AmeriChem Systems, Inc. engineers and fabricates custom process equipment for some of the most demanding industrial environments in North America and beyond. The Applications Engineer is central to how that work gets started — translating complex customer requirements into clear scopes, accurate P&IDs, and fabrication-ready designs. This is not a seat-filler role. You will work directly with customers from kickoff through closeout, and your drawings and documentation become the foundation every other department builds on. FLSA Status: Exempt

Hours: 40 hours/week, 52 weeks/year. Flexible schedule required; overtime may be needed.

Essential Job Functions

• Prepare, schedule, coordinate, and monitor assigned engineering projects
• Develop and review engineering deliverables including P&IDs, GA drawings, quotations, and scopes of work
• Conceptualize and design custom fabricated equipment systems — pumps, valves, piping, instrumentation, industrial controls, and more
• Verify material compatibility and recommend components and equipment sizing for ASI systems
• Ensure all project design objectives, submittal schedules, and documentation packages are met
• Represent ASI in Design Reviews, Kickoff Meetings, and Closeout Meetings with customers, suppliers, and co-workers
• Support and execute marketing activities as requested
• Manage assigned projects from proposal through closeout

Responsibilities

• Create and/or review engineering deliverables to maintain project and proposal schedules, including:
  • Quotations and Scopes of Work
  • P&ID Drawings
  • General Arrangement (GA) Drawings
• Provide timely, accurate responses to project and proposal questions, specifications, and customer requirements
• Verify ASI system designs for material compatibility; recommend appropriate components and equipment sizing
• Create, update, and document ASI best practices
• Interface professionally with customers, suppliers, and internal teams throughout the project lifecycle
• Collaborate across all ASI departments to keep projects on schedule and within quality standards
• Work with the Quality department to ensure all procedures are followed on assigned projects
• Complete additional tasks as assigned by supervisor or management

Education & Experience

Required:

• Minimum Associate’s degree in a related technical field
• Proficiency in CAD, MS Office, and project management software
• Ability to read and interpret structural drawings, P&IDs, GA drawings, and electrical schematics
• Strong organizational skills
• Punctual and dedicated to ASI’s performance standards for customers

Preferred:

• Experience working within ISO 9001:2015 requirements
• Technical expertise with structural, pump, pipe, control panel, electrical, and vessel design
• Experience writing quotation proposals
• Experience with technical documentation: P&IDs, BOMs, Scopes of Work, and GA drawings
