Michael Perry’s career started in an unexpected place: accounting. But after being told he had “too much personality” to be an accountant, he pivoted into sales—selling electrical parts like light bulbs, relays, and controls.

What made him stand out? Curiosity. He quickly moved beyond basic sales to work with advanced systems like robotics and conveyors. He loved learning how things worked and helping customers solve real problems.

From Automation Sales to AmeriChem Systems

After more than a decade in large corporations, Michael crossed paths with the team at AmeriChem at a local event. At first, he thought they might be a great customer. Instead, they offered him a role—and he jumped from a 9,000-person company to a tight-knit team of 19.

That move changed everything.

“I joined AmeriChem because of the talent,” Perry explains. “It was a small shop, but full of Hall of Fame engineers. I knew I had to be part of it.”
